The city of Owensboro is considering new restrictions on electric bikes and scooters.
The proposed ordinance would prohibit children under the age of 15 from operating e-bikes and electric scooters.
It would also limit e-bike use on sidewalks and in city parks.
Only “class one e-bikes” that require pedaling would be allowed on the Green-Belt and the Rudy Mines Trails.
The ordinance received its first reading Tuesday, but no vote was taken.
