Boonville’s Fire Department just earned a lower fire protection rating.
Fire Chief Steven Byers says the department’s Public Protection Classification has gone from a “5” to a “3”.
That means the lower the rating you have, the better fire service you’re providing.
Byers says the department has been working to lower its rating to help homeowners and business owners with their insurance costs.
