The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is implementing a long-term temporary lane closure on the southbound U.S. 41 Twin Bridge in Henderson after inspectors identified issues with a component in the bridge’s support structure during an inspection early this week. For the safety of the traveling public, the left lane of the southbound structure will remain closed until repairs are completed.
KYTC is working with contractors to develop a repair plan that can be completed in the shortest timeframe possible while ensuring the repairs are performed safely and properly.
Additional details about the repair plan, including the anticipated duration of the lane closure and the work required to address the issue, will be released as soon as that information is available.
After a brief unscheduled closure on the northbound bridge this afternoon, the inspection of that bridge should be completed.
Motorists should expect continued delays and changing traffic patterns in the area and are encouraged to allow additional time when crossing the Twin Bridges.
