A fire that caused extensive damage to a building on Evansville’s north side is under investigation.
EFD was dispatched around 1:40 Monday morning to the 800 block of North Fourth Avenue.
Once on scene, crews began efforts to bring the fire under control while searching the structure, due to reports of homeless activity at the property.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions involving multiple areas of the building, causing a portion of the roof to collapse.
Crews remained on scene for more than an hour before the fire was contained.
No injuries were reported.
