July 10 (Reuters) – British drugmaker GSK said on Friday its experimental drug for treating patients with advanced or relapsed small-cell lung cancer showed positive results in a late-stage trial.
The Ris-Rez drug, which GSK has licensed from China’s Hansoh Pharma for rights outside the country, showed “statistically significant and clinically meaningful” improvements in overall survival versus standard care.
It is being developed to treat various tumours, including lung and prostate cancer, and is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets the B7H3 protein found on cancer cells.
GSK had said in April its another experimental targeted cancer drug Mo-rez, also licensed from Hansoh, has blockbuster potential.
