Evansville Day School earns Tree Campus recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation.
To qualify for this award, schools must uphold four core standards.
These include maintaining a tree campus team, developing an educational plan that connects students to trees and their benefits, offering hands-on experiences, and hosting an Arbor Day celebration.
Trees on school grounds can lower the energy costs of school facilities by providing shade, reducing extreme heat, improving air quality, and boosting physical health benefits for students and staff.
In addition, trees improve students’ mental and cognitive health.
