Don Mattingly has been named interim manager for the Phillies.
This follows the termination of Rob Thompson.
Mattingly has served as their bench coach through the first 28 games this season.
He followed his career with the Yankees by managing the Los Angeles Dodgers for five seasons, the Miami Marlins for seven seasons, and roles as the bench coach and the offensive coordinator for the Toronto Blue Jays for 2 seasons.
He is the father of Phillies general manager Preston Mattingly.
