Two people are facing animal cruelty charges. Earlier this month, a pit bull mix was found hanged by the neck from a tree.
The incident happened near the intersection of Cross Street and Evans Avenue in Evansville.
Jalisa Brown and Dejhaun Jones were arrested this week in the case.
Witnesses told police that Brown said her dog attacked another dog, so her boyfriend and another man hung it.
Police say both Brown and Jones denied they knew the dog was hung.
The affidavit names two others, but they have not been charged.
