JAKARTA, April 27 (Reuters) – Two trains collided late on Monday in the city of Bekasi adjoining the Indonesian capital Jakarta, an official said, adding that it has affected train operations.
The collision took place in Bekasi train station between a commuter line and a long-distance train, the spokesperson of the commuter line operator Karina Amanda told Reuters.
There were no reports of casualties, Karina said, adding that “we are focusing in evacuating passengers and train crew”.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear, she said.
Footage from local broadcaster Kompas TV showed some ambulances at Bekasi station. Rescuers from Indonesia’s rescue agency were also in attendance to help evacuate passengers.
