First Brush of Spring returns to New Harmony April 22-25, 2026

During the event, more than 130 artists will be painting live across town—capturing New Harmony’s architecture, landscapes, and early spring blooms—creating a unique opportunity for visitors (and cameras) to experience art in real time.

Event Highlights:
• Four days of live plein air painting throughout New Harmony
• Judged competition with cash awards, including Best of Show
• “Field to Finish” exhibit showcasing the artistic process

The Saturday show offers the public a chance to meet artists, view freshly completed work, and purchase original pieces inspired by New Harmony.

This event is highly visual and offers excellent opportunities for:
• Live shots of artists painting throughout town
• Interviews with artists and organizers
• A strong “spring getaway” feature story
