Bio
Big Bill started his radio career in his home town of Paintsville, Kentucky, by operating the radio control board on Sunday morning for live church programs and collecting $30 in cash for each half hour broadcast. He attended the University of Kentucky on a radio/TV scholarship and soon found his first full time job on WLAP in Lexington, Kentucky. His career path took him to WHOO in Orlando Florida, WKGN Knoxville, WPOP Hartford, WKLO Louisville, WHK Cleveland, WFBC Greenville/Spartanburg and WSLR Akron. Big Bill was the Program Director at WBKR Owensboro, Kentucky for ten years and two years at WDOD Chattanooga. He was an instructor at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro. Bill then spent 29 years at the “other” Country radio station in Evansville, hosting a highly rated oldies show on Saturday mornings. Bill’s wife Beverly is a published writer with five novels co-written with her twin Barbara. Bill and Beverly have been married 46 years.
