Officials at Evansville Animal Care and Control have provided an update on several dog deaths.
They had identified parvovirus and Giardia in several of their dogs following the deaths.
Parvovirus is a highly contagious viral illness that causes severe gastrointestinal disease, while Giardia is a parasitic infection.
Shelter officials say they are still waiting on additional pending test results.
The shelter remains under strict cleaning and sanitation protocols.
The shelter will remain closed for now.
