Honor Flight of Southern Indiana is giving local veterans a free, one-day trip to Washington, D.C., to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The nonprofit flies more than 80 veterans and their guardians to the nation’s capital twice a year.
Some of the sites shown on the tour are Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam, Korean, and World War 2 memorials.
Honor Flight’s scheduled departure is September 26.
People can get involved by donating, volunteering as a guardian, organizing Mail Call letters, or attending the Welcome Home celebration at Evansville Regional Airport.
