The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has issued a beach advisory for Patoka Lake due to blue-green algae and E. coli levels.
Swimming and boating are still allowed, but swimmers should avoid contact with algae and avoid swallowing water while swimming.
Take a bath or shower with warm, soapy water after coming in contact with lake water.
Do not use lake water for cooking or bathing, and do not allow your pets to swim in or drink water where algae is present.
