A pet saved the lives of its family during a house fire.
It happened Sunday morning around 4:30 in the 6400 block of Waterstone Court in Newburgh.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-family dwelling with smoke and fire coming from the garage.
Crews had the fire under control and extinguished in under 30 minutes.
The homeowner stated that their dog, who has a history of waking them up to storms or if he was anxious, was able to wake them up.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
