The City of Evansville has a new mayor.
Stephanie Terry was sworn in as the 35th mayor in front of hundreds inside Bosse High School auditorium On Monday.
In her speech, Mayor Terry recognized the significance of the day.
Terry stated that as the first woman and African American mayor, she will be held to higher standards and that’s ok because she’s ready.
Lloyd Winnecke chose not to run for a fourth term.
He is now the CEO of Evansville Regional Economic Partnership.
