An Evansville police officer will stay on administrative suspension until the conclusion of a criminal case against him.
Jamarius Ward was arrested in February and charged with felony violence.
The charge accuses Ward of hitting a victim multiple times with a flexible, blunt object causing bruising on the victim’s upper arm, upper back, clavicle and wrist.
He faces trial in August.
Monday afternoon, the police merit board mandated his remaining on suspension pending the disposition of his case.
