Evansville’s five neighborhood pools have sat high and dry since 2019, but there’ll be wet and wild this summer.
Parks and Recreation director Brian Holtz says the city took a minor financial hit when Helfrich, Mosby, Lorraine, Rochelle-Landers and Hartke never opened in 2020.
The city is looking to hire about 100 people as lifeguards and cashiers as the pools re-open for the first time since 2019.
Hartke pool will lead the way, being the first to open over Memorial Day Weekend
